Greetings!

I’m Cassandra—or Cassie—and welcome to the abode for my work!

For the last 8 years I’ve worked as a Graphic & Visual Designer in a variety of in-house and agency teams. My specialties include corporate marketing and advertising, landing pages, branding, and production. I’m an excellent cross-departmental collaborator, love driving process and building community. I’m currently accepting freelance assignments while seeking full-time work.

My aesthetic is bold and vibrant yet clean and minimalistic. I love modern innovation yet am wildly nostalgic for iconic brands, and I love merging the two together. I’m attracted to advertising that is eye-catching, clever, and unexpected. I design with a multimodal approach, bridging visually compelling designs with practical application. I see design as a way to help both brand and consumer—I enjoy helping a company reach its goals by bringing its mission and vision to life, while also solving its user’s and audience’s needs—and I thoroughly believe successful design builds customer trust.

Accessibility, Neurodiversity, and Inclusivity are important causes I implement in both my design and copywriting work. I achieve this through my passion of simplifying complex or new information into digestible content. In or outside my profession, I value staying well-rounded, resourceful, and always learning.

Background

I graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Graphic Design and Concentration in Web Design, after initially studying Multimedia Journalism and Environmental Studies.

My background in storytelling and love of creative writing allow me to apply copywriting skills to connect brand messaging and customer engagement.

Prior to my career as a designer, I worked for several years in various fields including customer service, operations, and administration, within the industries of retail, third party logistics (3PL), and healthcare.

Inspiration / Personal

I see the world through a creative lens and love keeping myself inspired. Snapping pictures of my surroundings, following countless design pages, researching trends, avidly taking photos of packaging design at grocery stores, learning new techniques, discovering fonts and color codes, and studying digital illustration to practice it myself are ways I continue evolving, creatively.

I’m a transplant to Seattle but grew up in the Midwest, having lived in Chicagoland for 16 years, with a hometown in Kansas City. I’m a city girl at heart and love exploring neighborhoods and attending a variety of events. When I’m home, I fill my space with music or keep busy binging TV shows, watching sports, reading mystery fiction, writing poetry and thought pieces, practicing design and digital illustration, and geek out over fandom, planning, research, science, and product review videos.

Outside of my own hobbies and methods of entertainment, family is everything to me. Their love and my experiences from them have shaped me to have a big heart, carrying empathy and sensitivity, and I cherish being helpful and considerate.
